2017 Shark Swim-a-thon
The Fort Washington Swim Team is proud to announce that its annual Swim-a-thon fundraiser will be held during practice on TBD [Rain Date: TBD], TBD younger, TBD older, and will support the TBD and your FWST Sharks. Our goal is 100% participation among all FWPA members, most especially the Sharks. Yes, adults are welcome to join in getting wet for two great causes. Students can earn school service hours for their community service.
Here’s how to participate.
- 1.The preferred way is to gather pledges per lap (two lengths of the pool) and multiply it by total number of laps swum arriving at a total pledge amount. Of course, any and all flat donations are welcome.
- 2.Come to the event with a person to count your laps, get in and swim as many laps as you can without getting out of the pool. Brief stops at each end of the pool are acceptable.
- 3.Collect all pledges and turn them in by July 16th
- 4.Come to the FWST Banquet to celebrate your charitable work and see if you won a prize
Did you know that 33 laps = 1,650 meters = 1 mile? A pledge of 50 cents per lap would be $16 a mile.
